Jumping Off The Bridge

Jahzaya had convinced me to jump off the bridge, but now we're up there my heart pounded and butterflies were fluttering in my stomach. Jahzaya sneaked up behind me in dead silence and as I was nearly ready to jump off I felt someone shove me. When I landed in the water I looked up at Jahzaya and started laughing.

The Amazing Race

We held this at Lake Rotoroa on Friday 12th April. Teams included students from each class. The aim of the activities was to help students get to know each other, build teamwork and co-operation skills. Thanks so much to the many family members who helped us out. We couldn't have done it without you!

Most teams started at the train

Brydie and her team going Totally Nuts!

Jessika, Tallis and their team going Totally Nuts!

Rhylee, Seth and Danny during the team skipping

Jackson and his team making sure they know the rules before they start...

The Jump Jam was great!

Amanda and Kaitlin with their team.

Chloe and her team eating dry weetbix ...

Josh and his team enjoying the Nyum Nyums!

Seth, Rhylee and Dannyjump jamming with their team.

Ranui and Brydie with their team eating dry weetbix.

Bethany with her team.

The word finds were a challenge. I'm not sure if Tallis is thinking or posing!

Devon and Brontzin getting ready to perform with their team.

Emily and her team doing more acorn counting

Ranui supervising his team maybe?

And Even More Poems

After the one word poems we tackled two word poems and tried to include some alliteration (repeated consonant sounds).

This is the class effort.

Crazy caterpillars
crawling, climbing
across strings
every day
seeking adventures.

...and here are some individual ones.

Crazy caterpillars
dying painfully
in gardens
every day
wasp food.
By Devontae Burgess

Fat caterpillars
create cocoons
on leaves
today, safely
forming butterflies.
By Jessika Morrison.
