Welcome
Welcome to all our families, friends and students.
We are members of Rimu team, made up of Karen Handley and the students in Room 13; Karyn Grey and the students in Room 11 and me, Diana Bird and the students in Room 12.
Karyn and I are new to the team this year, as are our Year 8’s, and we are pleased to say everyone is adjusting well, enjoying new experiences and challenges.
School theme
Our school theme this year is “Be the change you want to see in the world.” I love this theme because it is so full of hope.
We can’t change anybody else, we can only change ourselves and hope to inspire others.
It is something everybody can do, so they make a difference. It might only be a little difference, but “If everybody does a little, it’s a lot. If everybody does nothing, it’s nothing.” Let’s do something!
About the blog
I aim to post regularly to keep you updated with our activities and give you ideas you can use to support your child’s learning. No doubt there will be more sayings shared too!
Contacting me
I am very happy to communicate with families by email, dbird@maeroa.school.nz and make appointments to meet with you. You can write messages to me in your child’s Homework book or leave a phone message. Please tell me if it is urgent, otherwise it may be a day or two before I call you back.
You are an important part of your child’s education and I value contact with you.
